Avalon Airport is situated on the Princes Freeway, between Melbourne and Geelong. Access is easy by car with the route well sign posted. Once at the Airshow site, traffic marshals will direct vehicles to the ample car parking areas. Please note a Car Parking Fee per vehicle is payable at the gate and patrons will need to walk from the car parks to the Airshow entrance. By car from Melbourne Avalon Airport is about 55kms along the Princes Freeway from the West Gate Bridge. From Tullamarine Airport Take the Tullamarine Freeway to the Western Ring Road and then travel west along the Princes Freeway towards Geelong. From Geelong Avalon is about 18kms along the Princes Freeway. Signs will direct you to the turn off.

Parking

Please note a Car Parking Fee per vehicle is payable at the gate and patrons will need to walk from the car parks to the Airshow entrance.

Public Transportation

Public Transport Victoria are running additional services to help customers get to and from the Avalon Airshow. Trains will run from Southern Cross Station and Geelong Station to Lara Station. A shuttle bus will transport customers from Lara Station directly to the Airshow site. You can purchase an integrated ticket which will provide you with return travel, to and from the Airshow site (please note this ticket does not include entry to the Airshow).

Accessible Seating

There are wheelchair facilities available for both General Admission and Gold Pass holders. Special facilities for people with disabilities include preferential parking for vehicles with Disabled Parking Permits, a special rest area, and toilets, limited access for wheelchairs and scooters.

General Rules

PROHIBITED ITEMS: Persons, vehicles, aircraft and containers are not permitted to enter the Event site (or carparks) with any prohibited item. Prohibited items include:- (i) materials, substances, explosives, pyrotechnics, weapons (including replica and toy firearms), projectiles and similar devices, (ii) placards, flags, banners, signs, brochures and leaflets, (iii) megaphones, amplifiers, loud speakers, lights and lasers, (iv) paint, chemicals, spray cans, apparatus and equipment, (v) bicycles, scooters, golf carts and items of personal conveyance (other than wheelchairs for use by disabled persons), (vi) stoves, barbecues and cooking equipment, (vii) tents, structures, shelters and elevated seating, (viii) shade and/or beach umbrellas which, in the opinion of the Organisers, have or may have the potential to cause damage, injury, hazard, danger, disruption, public nuisance, offence, distress, public inconvenience or security risk. All unlawful substances are prohibited items. Alcohol may not be brought onto the Event site except with the prior express approval of the Organisers. Animals and birds will not be admitted to the Event site or carparks except guide dogs being used by blind, deaf or otherwise disabled persons.

Children Rules

Children 4 years and under accompanied by an adult will be provided free access to general admission areas and may sit on the lap of an Adult holding a Gold Pass. Children over the age of 4 will be required to purchase a general admission ticket or a Gold Pass if they wish to access the reserved seat area. Any Gold Pass holders under the age of 16 will not be admitted to the Aero Space Expo until after 2pm Friday.

If any part of the Event or any performance, display, exhibit or other element of the Event is cancelled, abandoned or postponed, in whole or in part, due to adverse weather or for any other cause reasonably beyond the Organisers’ control, there is no right to refund or exchange and no obligation on the Organisers to arrange any substitute event, performance, display, exhibit or element. If any part of the Event or any performance, display, exhibit or other element of the Event is cancelled, abandoned or postponed, in whole or in part, due to adverse weather or for any other cause reasonably beyond the Organisers’ control, there is no right to refund or exchange and no obligation on the Organisers to arrange any substitute event, performance, display, exhibit or element.
