The Geelong Showgrounds is 4km south-southwest from Geelong CBD. To get to the festival site, head down Breakwater Road and you'll see the entrance for the car park on your left just before the Geelong Racecourse. Geelong is a 50-minute drive from the Westgate Bridge in Melbourne. Here's how you go: if you're coming from the city, the east or the southeast, make your way to the Westgate Freeway if you're coming from the west or the north, take the Western Ring Road heading west then take the Princes Freeway to Geelong. Travelling from interstate? Rental car agencies can be found at airports and city centres.

Parking

The Geelong Showgrounds is located 3.5km from the Geelong CBD. Entry is via the Members Carpark located at Gate 4 on Breakwater Road. Free public parking is located in the Members Carpark via Gate 4

Public Transportation

By Bus Regular buses will be travelling between the Moorabool Street bus interchange (between Malop Street and Ryrie Street) and the showgrounds site. McHarry’s Bus Lines operate Routes 61 (hourly) and 62 (half-hourly) which stop at the showgrounds site. Plan your journey by bus: http://www.mcharrys.com.au/journey_planner.html By Train The festival site is ten minutes walk north along Tucker Street and Breakwater Road from South Geelong Station. Trains run frequently on Friday night and around every hour on Saturday. On Sunday there aren't many trains so it would be easier to catch a bus. It takes about 3 minutes to travel from Geelong Station to South Geelong Station and just over an hour from Southern Cross Station in Melbourne. Accessible Seating

There is wheelchair access to all areas of the Motor City Music Festival. The festival site at the Geelong Showgrounds has many paved areas and wheelchair accessible toilets in the permanent toilet block near the site entry/exit in the south-east corner of the festival site. Note that the Southern Cross Stage, market stalls and Showmans Alley are grassed areas, which may be uneven in parts. The car parking area at the Members Car Park is also on a grassed area, which may be uneven. Our dedicated wheelchair accessible parking will be situated closer to the entry gates for ease of entry. If any extra access issues or if you have any concerns regarging access, please email us or see security personnel on site. We will have security guards supervising crowds at all stages at all times. Please ask for assistance from security personnel if required.

General Rules

Lockout from 9:30pm on Friday & Saturday nights - no entry permitted after this time No drinks will be permitted into the event site. You cannot bring sealed plastic water bottles (with or without contents) into the event site. You can bring unsealed EMPTY plastic water bottles (no glass) into the event site. Food may be brought onto the event site. However, it is your responsibility to ensure food is safe to consume. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for food brought onto the Event Site by patrons. * Any drinks - including alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks. Water will be available for free at drinking stations throughout the site. Own water bottles are not permitted. Motor City Music Festival is a licensed event; alcohol is available for purchase at all venues. * Metal cutlery, including cheese knives * Aerosols, sunshades, tents and tables * Umbrellas, even if its raining - bring good quality raincoats/ponchos and gumboots instead * Glass - this includes wine glasses, jars, or any other containers or items made of glass * Professional cameras (including SLRs and any camera with a removable lens) and sound and video recording equipment. Children Rules

Friday night and Saturday (day and night) at the Motor City Music Festival are for Over 18s only. Sunday at Motor City Music Festival is a family-friendly day so you can share your love of great music with your kids and enjoy a show atmosphere with rides and a fireworks extravaganza.

Miscellaneous

This event will be staged rain, hail or shine. Four (4) of the five (5) stages are undercover There will be an ATM on site. This may experience long queues so it's a good idea to bring enough cash for the day or evening. Three bars operate throughout the event: Southern Cross Beer Garden: This open air beer garden overlooks the Southern Cross stage, a large grassy, open-air zoen with picnic tables and gum trees, perfect for chillin on picnic blankets by day and non-stop dancing by night. Motor Pavilion Beer Hall: The aptly titled Motor Pavilion transforms into a beer hall with space for dancing, loads of picnic tables (both undercover and in the sun) and chilled beers on tap Showmans Bar: The deep-south juke joint atmosphere that is the Showman’s Bar, has been the talk of the town since the 2014 event. In addition to a large range of beers, wines and spirits, this is the location of the Bacardi Mojito Bar - A hit with all the ladies and gents! ('Mo-hee-tos' are a delicious combo of white rum, sugar, lime, soda and mint. Very moreish!) An array of tantalising gourmet food vans are spread around the site.
